Private Jewelry Lessons with
Marlo Miyashiro of Marlo M. Jewelry Design
Private Instruction: $45/hr – Semi-Private
Instruction: $35/hr
Private lessons = one student max. Semi-Private = 4 student max.
(No previous metalworking experience necessary.
First-time students require a 2-hour minimum, hourly rate for returning
students.)

Learn how to cut, saw, fabricate, solder and finish your own designs in
metal such as copper, brass, nickel and sterling silver. No previous
experience required.

Materials available for use include: limited amounts of copper, brass,
nickel and sterling silver sheet and wire, semi-precious stones and
various beads to complete a basic project. Lesson plans will be based on
your experience and desired technique(s) to learn. I'll work directly
with you to help you through each step, offering hints and tips and
answering all of your questions along the way.

Includes in-studio use of most tools (hand tools, little torch,
soldering, forming, ring sizing, cutting, finishing, polishing, etc.)
and most consumable supplies (buffing compound and use of buffs, solder,
flux, pickle, etc.)
Supervised studio rental: $15/hr
(Prerequisites – Basic jewelry fabrication experience or 8 hours of
private/semi-private instruction (see description above). Includes a free
30-minute introductory safety briefing to ensure proper use of tools in the
studio)

Basic supervision only -- you bring your own major materials (silver
sheet and wire, stones, beads, etc.) to create your own project. Minimal
instruction provided. Instructor will be present to answer basic
questions and offer guidance on your specific project.

Beginning/Intermediate student package: $240.00

Includes 5 hours of Private Instruction and 3 hours of Supervised studio
rental at a 10% discount off regular rates. This package is great for
students who would like to have personalized design and fabrication
assistance with a specific project (such as a special gift for a
friend), do not have their own studio set-up or wish to learn a very
specific technique (such as soldering or stone setting).
