Introducing - Metalsmithing Workshops for Glass Artists!

 

Riveted Sterling Bead Caps Workshop

Create your own decorative sterling bead caps and permanently mount them to your beads without the use of solder!

 

In this beginner level class (no prior metal experience required!) you’ll have lots of fun while you learn how to:

¨Design and fabricate sterling silver bead caps

¨Use hand tools and design punches to decorate your creations

¨Rivet the bead caps to your own beads using classic “cold connection” techniques

¨Finish them off with a gleaming bright polish or lustrous matte finish

 

A maximum of 5 students per class ensures personalized instruction for every participant!

 

Required material to bring to class:

At least 4 clean beads with 3/32” and/or 1/8” diameter holes. We recommend you bring at least one of each size to get the most out of this workshop!

 

Optional materials and tools to bring to class:

(The tools marked * will be available for your use in class and/or purchase to take home!)

Additional beads with 3/32” or 1/8” holes

Notebook and pencil

Decorative metal punches

Riveting hammer OR

*Small faced ball-peen hammer

*Steel Bench Block

*Center Punch

Class Fee** (Pre-Pay to secure your preferred class time and $ave!):

$50.00 if paid in full before class

$60.00 day of class (cash only) – You MUST call, email or fax at least one day before your preferred class to confirm space availability!

**Class fee includes the use of in-studio tools and enough silver sheet and tubing to create caps for up to 3 beads. Specialized tools and additional silver will be available for purchase.
