Lessons Learned in the Garden

From the heart of the artist, Marlo Miyashiro of Marlo M. Jewelry Design presents a deeply personal memoir of childhood that offers its soul to the search for guidance through life. The message behind her one-of-a-kind centerpiece titled "Lessons Learned in the Garden" along with a derivative production jewelry line, "Seedlings," provide a gateway through which we can investigate the mystery of being.

"Every season, my mother would work her green-thumbed magic with some fertile soil and a few packets of seeds to create a lush garden in our backyard," says Miyashiro. "As we watched the seedlings grow, I realized how strong they had to be to survive. I admired my mother for always being there, protecting and encouraging them to strive for fruition."

"My tiny seedlings floating above shadowed backgrounds are a metaphor for living life," says Miyashiro. "They have become my personal symbols of perseverance and diligence through adversity."
